"Chondrus Crispus - Red Algae Extract
A Red Algae Extract found in the Northern Seas / Oceans between Europe and Canada - Chondrus Crispus - was found to have a largely interesting effect against hair loss. It even could stand up against pharmaceutical bench marks when measuring hair shaft elongation in hair follicles and prolongation of the anagen phase, both contributing to a significant hair loss reduction. The active ingredients, which were found to be responsible for the observed effect, were specific metabolites of this ""Chondrus Crispus"". They are polyamine dipeptides, important precursors of certain active polyamines (both arginine and citrulline), which occur together as a dipeptide in ""Chondrus Crispus"". Another active ingredient is formed by the natural sulphonic acid Taurine, which is derived from the amino acids Methionine and Cysteine"", both of which contain ""sulphur"" as the most remarkable atom. Crucial to the biosynthesis of these specific metabolites of ""Chondrus Crispus"" is the exposure to cold, northern temperatures, combined with a prolonged lack of sunlight, especially in winter, which causes the proper chemical shift to the valuable active metabolites.
