"Algae are rich in mucilage, plant acids, salts (so called alginates) and trace elements. The action of algae is mainly the regulation of the moisture balance in the skin: but not all algae do have the same properties.
Red Algae - Chondrus Crispus: These algae are found in the ocean near Hawaii and have moisturizing properties. Therefore, they improve the skin’s barrier function, leaving the skin tighter and softer. The polysaccharides of these red algae also provide a satin soft skin feeling."
