"Horse Chestnut
Contains proteins, saponines, glycosides, tannins and allantoin. It helps to improve the resistance of the capillary vessels in the skin and stimulates microcirculation. Horse chestnut is vasoconstringent, which means that capillary vessels are tightened, making them less permeable, which leads to a more effective draining of waste products. Stimulation of microcirculation in the skin causes a slimming effect, especially when used under occlusive circumstances."
"Aloe Vera
This extract from a succulent plant that grows in desert areas has strong soothing, calming, purifying and moisturising properties, which are particularly beneficial when the skin has been subjected to heavy stress, such as after waxing or sunburn."
"German Chamomile / Matricaria Recutita
Has been known from time immemorial for its beneficial effects. The lipophilic components (found in the essential oil and distillates) have a soothing effect. Rich in Bisabolol and related compounds, it also has a certain anti-bacterial and anti-mycotic effect."
Equisetum Arvense (Field Horsetail) is used to fortify connective tissue; it’s soothing, skin strengthening, it stimulates microcirculation and is astringent. Field Horsetail contains a high percentage of silicic acid. It has a deep effect, reaching the dermis and therefore provides, next to the recovering action, a long lasting effect by stimulating the biosynthesis of essential proteins from amino-acids in the dermis, amongst which the well-known proteins collagen and elastin and also hyaluronic acid.
"Vegetable Glycerin
Glycerin is a small molecule that attracts water and binds it. These characteristics also make it a valuable ingredient for the Natural Moisturing Factor, which is responsible for the natural moisture balance in the skin.
At the end of the 18th century, long before the petrochemical industry was formed by mankind, the German Carl Wilhelm Scheele produced Glycerin for the first time in history by the saponification of olive oil. Although many changes were made ever since, the production process of gaining vegetable Glycerin from natural oil basically remained unchanged. Only the demands with respect to purity were optimized according to the latest pharmaceutical bench marks. In other words, this means that Medex created its products with pure, vegetable Glycerin."
"Witch hazel
It is extracted from the bark and leaves of the North American plant Hamamelis Virginiana. It is widely used as an astringent and skin freshener."
"Sage
Contains tannins and saponins: anti-inflammatory and purifying."
